Signed linocut print, in original matting. CLAIRMONTE MAPP Born on February 10th, 1951, Clairmonte Mapp is prolific and versatile Barbadian artist. He has always been one with nature and expressed this feeling in his art. He utilizes environmental aspects in his main themes, such as culture and heritage; which possesses a Barbadian charm and flavour as their cornerstone. His art is wide and varied and encompasses a number of outstanding styles and mediums. These include acrylic, watercolour, airbrush and printing. An art teacher from 1974-1992, he resigned to become a full time professional artist with Art Studios in Barbados, New York and Alabama, U.S.A. with many awards to his credit. His work has been exhibited and sold exclusively in the Caribbean, Italy, United Kingdom and United States.
